Born in Santiago, Chile, Iván Navarro lives and works in New York, USA. Among his major awards, can be highlighted Art/IMO, the International Artists’ Residence in New York, in 2001 a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant in New York, in 2006, and Altazor, from the National Prize for Visual Arts in Santiago, in Chile, in 2009. Among his solo exhibitions, Concentration Camp, at the Roebling Hall in New York, Pachamama, at the Metropolitan gallery in Santiago, “No Soy de Aquí, No Soy Allá” (I Am Not from Here, I Am Not, From There), at the Union Gallery in London, England, all in 2006. In 2012, he exhibited Impenetrables/Art Kabinett, in Paul Kasmin Gallery in Miami, “Light at the End of the Tunnel”, in Egeran Gallery, Istanbul, Turkey and “Nacht und Nebel”, at the Fondazione VOLUME!, in Rome. In 2014, he exhibited “Under the Same Sun: Art from Latin America Today,” at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
