Antonio Riello

Born in Marostica, 1958. He is an eclectic artist who often works with “New-Media” and attracted by the most controversial and thorny issues of Italian society, managed with irony and a good amount of sarcasm. From his childhood he had a great commitment and deep devotion to the patron saint, St. Anthony of Padua. His name, Antonio, is proudly the fruit of an act of devotion of his mother to the “Il Santo”. Some time he involves “Il Santo” in his works of art, making a kind of contemporary ex-voto. He exhibited his works in several Museums and Institutions, including: BALTIC (Gateshead UK), NGBK (Berlin D), NEUHAUSEN KUNSTVEREIN (Neuhausen D) MART (Rovereto I), MUSEE D’ART (Saint Etienne F), KUNSTHALLE WIEN A), FONDAZIONE ARNALDO POMODORO (Milan I), PAC (Milan I), PALAZZO DELLE PAPESSE (Siena I), NEUE GALERIE (Graz A), WOLFSBURG KUNSTVEREIN (Wolfsburg D), GALLERIA CIVICA CONTEMPORARY ART (Palermo I), PECCI MUSEUM (Prato I), FREIBURG KUNSTVEREIN (Freiburg D), KIEL KUNSTVEREIN (Kiel D), GALLERIA CIVICA CONTEMPORARY ART (Trento I), BIENNALE ARTE TIRANA 2001 (Tirana AL), SYNOPALIA II (Synope TR), ITALIAN CULTURAL INSTITUTE United Kingdom), WIESBADEN KUNSTVEREIN (Wiesbaden D), MUSEUM STORIA NATURALE (Milan I), XII and XV QUADRIENNALE D’ARTE (Rome I), BORUSIAN FOUNDATION (Istanbul TR), CHELSEA MUSEUM OF ART (New York, USA), REMAP (Athens GR), ELGIZ MUSEUM (Istanbul TR), 54 and 57 BIENNALE DI VENEZIA (Venezia I), GLOBEGALLERY (NewCastle / Tyne UK), 4 CANAKKALE BIENNALE (Cana Kkale TR) GALLERY MODERN ART (Torino I), BIENNALE ARTE RIJEKA (Rijeka HR), MUSEUM ART DESIGN (New York, USA), MUDAC (Lausanne CH), CIVIC MUSEUM BASSANO (Bassano I), OPENSPACEISTANBUL United Kingdom) ARIANA MUSEE ‘(Geneve CH), MUSEUM DER WELT (Berlin D), DORDRECHT MUSEUM (Dordrecht NL)
