Frank Ammerlaan

Sassenheim, The Netherlands, 1979; Lives and works in London, UK. Dust, meteorite particle, iron filings, aluminum, oxidized linen: extracts or products of organic matter from celestial bodies make up the artist’s recent works. Elements that translate ideas into their own materiality; Allowing us access to different ways of experiencing reality, without, however, getting us off the ground. By using alien substances in geometric patterns or delicate industrial embroidery, Ammerlaan associates fragments of the unpredictable or the unknown with sensual and materialistic experiences, thus speculating on the limits of human perception.
