Huang Ying was born in Hunan and is now based in Beijing. Graduated from Beijing Film Academy and Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, she is one of the most representative and active emerging artists in Chinese contemporary art world in recent years. Huang Ying works in varied media – video, photography, graphics, installation, sculpture and painting. Her works share the new relationship between human and the whole environment with new language and codes. She has subjectively weaved out a “simulated mirrored realm of reality” that re-defined the boundary between the real and the simulated, the natural and the artificial.
