Hugo Avetta

HUGO AVETA He was born in Córdoba in 1965. He studied film and architecture, and then devoted himself to photography. His works begin to be exhibited in the exhibition Argentine Photography. The Young Generation organized by the National Museum of Fine Arts and were published in the Photography Argentina Actual Two in the early years of the nineties. The II MERCOSUR Art Biennial includes him as a participant and continues his career with several individual and collective exhibitions in the cities of Buenos Aires (National Museum of Fine Arts, Recoleta Cultural Center, French Alliance, MARC, Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires Municipal Museum of Fine Arts Eduardo Sívori), Rosario (Municipal Museum of Fine Arts Juan B. In 2009, he participated in the End of the World Biennial in Ushuaia, Argentina and Photoquai Paris, France. Inaugurates The space breathes in the Provincial Museum of Fine Arts Emilio Caraffa of Cordoba and is part of the exhibition Looking at history in the photographic collection at the National Museum of Fine Arts, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2010, he exhibits Humanity of Objects at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Salta and participates in the international exhibition of Afuera art in El Panal, Córdoba. In 2011, his works are exhibited at the Centro Cultural Parque España de Rosario and at the Argentine photography show at Galerie Seippel, in the city of Cologne, Germany. In 2012 he is part of the exhibition Patagonie, images du bout du monde at the Musée du Quai Branly, Paris, France. He participates in the Paraguayan Photography Biennial “El ojo salvaje” with the Before Time exhibition at the Migliorisi Foundation, Asuncion and receives the First Prize of the Biennial of Art x Artistic Photography and the Résidence Photoquai Research Grant of the Musée du Quai Branly, Paris, France. In 2013 he participates in the Biennial of Curitiba, Brazil and in the Territorial Exhibition, of the Embassy of Argentina in New York. In 2014, he inaugurated the solo show “Ritmos Primarios”, the subversion of the soul in NextLevel Galerie, Paris France, and his video is selected to participate in the LOOP Barcelona 2014. In 2015 participates in the exhibition My Buenos Aires in La Maison Rouge, Paris, France, Migrants in contemporary art, Museo iInmigrantes, Buenos Aires, Argentina and his work are acquired by the National Fund of Contemporary Art of France and inaugurates “Symptoms, the unnamed image” El Gran Vidrio, Córdoba, Argentina. In 2016 Exhibition “The silence of the world” NextLevel Galerie, Paris, France and participates in the exhibition “Soulevements” Jeu de Paume Paris, France, inaugurated in 2017 at the National Museum of Art of Catalonia. In 2017 Inaugurates “the intimate consciousness of objects”, Centro Cultural Haroldo Conti; “In another country” National Museum of Fine Three Bs As, Argentina.
