Mário de Alencar

Mário de Alencar is an artist from Paraná who works with Collage concepts in an expanded field. Backed into a counter culture at the tender age of twenty-somethings, and only then receiving his formal art education from the Federal University of Paraná, the artist produced visual supports for a generation of bands and activism of local and national scenes, even though he also published in Newspapers such as Gazeta do Povo and Folha de São Paulo. Heir of avant-garde traditions of fragmentation and non-linearity of reading, found in contemporary incarnations through the decupagem of processes, Mário seeks to translate the language of Collage into various techniques, from watercolor painting to metal engraving. He lives and works in Curitiba.
