Nicolás Robbio

Mar del Plata, Argentina, 1975; Lives and works between São Paulo (Brazil) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). More than a way of doing, drawing, in the work of Nicolás Robbio, is also understood as a way of thinking. Although he uses technical language and principles of geometry, physics, and mathematics, Robbio does not intend to limit drawing to questions of pure objectivity and rationality, but to understand a subjective elaboration of this practice. From a study of language and representation, the artist subverts some of his codes, stressing symbols and creating situations that are foreign to the very materials that make up his works. “Basically, my [language] is like a technical language with interferences. It’s not a door to close, but something to open, “says the artist.
