Yu Xingze

Born in Liaoning Province, China in 1976, Yu Xingze is an associate professor at School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University in Shanghai, China. In 2006, he earned his master’s degree from Painting Studio of Professor Jurgen Meyer Kunsthochschule Kassel, Germany. And in 2013 he had his PhD from the School of Architecture, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China. His selected solo exhibitions include: “X City” at Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Centre, China in 2017; “Yu Xingze 2013-2015 Painting Exhibition” at Chun Art Museum in Shanghai, China in 2016; “Animal Brain” at Schiller Gallery in Heidelberg, Germany in 2015; “Visual Paradise – Three Worlds About Yu Xingze” at Sishang Art Museum in Beijing, China in 2014; and “The Transparent of Reflection” at Modern Art Space, Shanghai Himalaya Museum in Shanghai, China in 2013.His selected group exhibitions include: Chinese contemporary art invitational exhibition “Mutual Supplementary and Conformity” at Ludwig Art Museum in Koblenz, Germany in 2016; contemporary art invitational exhibition “Another Germany” at Duisburg Art Hall in Duisburg, Germany in 2016; “Portrait Now!” at National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2015; Seoul World Open Art Exhibition at Sejong Cultural Center in Seoul, South Korea in 2014; “The Media & Method in the Contemporary Painting” at Sishang Art Museum in Beijing, China in 2013; “China Youth Art Exhibition” at SAP Exhibition Centre in Heidelberg, Germany in 2012; China contemporary art exhibition “Pulse of Asia” at Bangkok Contemporary Art Museum in Bangkok, Thailand in 2011; and “Super Organism – The 1st CAFAM Biennale” in Beijing, China in 2011.
