Tom Lisboa has a Master in Communication and Language and works as visual artist, cinema and photography teacher and independent curator. He has been living in Curitiba since 1987. In 2012, he was awarded the FUNARTE Marc Ferrez Photography Prize and, in 2005, the Porto Seguro Photography Prize, in the “contemporary research” category (the (in)visible polaroid series). In that same year, he was also recognized by Rumos Itaú Cultural. He was one of the Brazilian artists selected for Bienal de Cerveira (2013), in Portugal, and has participated as guest of the main photography festivals in the country (Paraty in Foco, Fest POA, Photo Art, Photo Week in Curitiba) and abroad like Encuentros Abiertos/Argentina and PhotoVisa/Russia). He joined the curatorial team of the Curitiba International Biennial in the years 2017, 2016, 2014, 2013 and 2009.
